This tool makes white and near-white backgrounds transparent: every pixel within 10% of pure white becomes see-through, and you get a PNG back. It suits product photos taken on a white or very light backdrop; it does not separate a person or object from a busy, coloured or dark background.
Many Facebook page sellers and small shops photograph items on a sheet of white paper, a white wall or a lightbox. Clearing that white gives a cut-out you can drop onto a brand colour, a banner or a marketplace template.
The method is simple colour matching, not AI. On our server ImageMagick runs convert -fuzz 10% -transparent white, which removes every pixel close to white anywhere in the picture, not only around the edges. That means white parts of the subject itself, such as a white shirt, a white label or white text, also turn transparent. Your image goes to our server over HTTPS, and the original and the PNG are deleted after processing.

No. It only clears white and near-white pixels, so a wall, furniture or a coloured backdrop stays. It is meant for subjects shot on a plain white or very light background.
The tool removes every near-white pixel in the whole picture, including white areas of the subject itself. A white logo, label or shirt will get holes. Shoot such items on a coloured backdrop instead, and use another editor to cut them out.
Shadows and dim corners of the backdrop are grey, not white, so they fall outside the 10% range and stay. More even light on the background reduces this.
