Cut an image into a rows × columns grid. Files never leave your browser.
Image Splitter cuts one picture into a grid of equal tiles, with 1 to 20 rows and 1 to 20 columns (2 × 2 to start). Every tile is saved as its own PNG, named by its row and column, such as photo-r1c2.png.
Splitting is the reverse of a collage: one large image becomes several smaller ones that fit together again. A wide panorama cut into three side-by-side squares becomes a swipeable carousel; a poster cut into a 3 × 3 grid fills a profile's photo grid.
Tile size is the image width divided by the number of columns and the height divided by the number of rows, rounded down. If the division is not exact, the last few pixels on the right or bottom edge are left out, so choose dimensions that divide evenly when every pixel matters.

Example: a 3240 × 1080 panorama into 3 squares
With 1 row and 3 columns, each tile is 3240 ÷ 3 = 1080 pixels wide and 1080 high. You get banner-r1c1.png, banner-r1c2.png and banner-r1c3.png, ready to post in that order.
Use an image that is three times as wide as it is tall, such as 3240 × 1080, set 1 row and 3 columns, and post the tiles r1c1, r1c2, r1c3 in order as one carousel.
Tile sizes are whole numbers, so any remainder after dividing the width or height is not included. Resize the image to a size that divides evenly first, for example 3000 pixels for 3 columns.
No. Each tile downloads as its own PNG. If your browser blocks some of them, allow multiple downloads for the site and press Download all again.
r is the row from the top and c the column from the left. r1c1 is the top-left tile and the highest numbers are the bottom-right.
No. Every tile is cut out on a canvas in your browser, so the picture stays on your device.
