PNG to EPS saves a PNG as an EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) file using ImageMagick on our server. The picture is embedded as pixels, so the EPS opens in print and design software that expects EPS, but it is not turned into vector artwork.

EPS is an older PostScript-based format that many printing presses, sign shops and newspaper layout systems still request. An EPS can contain vectors, pixels or both; when you start from a PNG, the EPS simply carries the same pixels in a PostScript wrapper.

That matters for expectations: if the print shop wants EPS because they need to enlarge your logo to banner size, a PNG-based EPS will blur exactly like the PNG. For true vectors, trace the PNG with PNG to SVG first. Your file is sent to our server over HTTPS and deleted with the output after conversion.

    Pick a .png file up to 100 MB; a higher resolution prints better.

  2. Convert to EPS

    Press Run; ImageMagick writes the PostScript file.

  3. Download and send

    Save the .eps and send it to the printer or import it into your layout software.

Does converting to EPS make my logo a vector?

No. An EPS made from a PNG contains the same pixels, so it enlarges no better than the PNG. If you need a scalable vector, trace the image with PNG to SVG first.

Why is the EPS so much bigger?

EPS stores image data in a less compact way than PNG, so file size often grows several times. That is normal for this format.

Will my transparent background survive?

Not reliably. EPS handles transparency poorly, and many programs show the background as white or black. If transparency matters, ask the printer whether a PDF or PNG would work.

How can I open the EPS to check it?

Use Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, CorelDRAW or Photoshop. Most phones and Windows Photos cannot display EPS directly.

What happens to my file on the server?

It is converted in an isolated temporary directory and deleted together with the EPS right after you receive it. Uploads are limited to 100 MB.
