Rotate Image turns a picture clockwise by 90, 180 or 270 degrees and saves it as a PNG, inside your browser. At 90 and 270 degrees the width and height swap, so a landscape image becomes portrait.
Photos of documents, receipts and whiteboards often end up sideways, especially when the phone was held flat over a table. Some apps show them correctly using a hidden orientation tag, but upload forms and older viewers ignore that tag and show the picture on its side.
Rotating here redraws the actual pixels in the new direction, so the file looks right everywhere, no matter which app opens it.
Upload the image
Choose the sideways or upside-down picture with the upload box.
Pick the angle
Select 90°, 180° or 270°. All three turn clockwise; 270° is the same as 90° anticlockwise.
Rotate and save
Press Run Rotate Image, check the preview, and download the PNG.
Choose 270°. Turning 270 degrees clockwise ends in the same position as 90 degrees anticlockwise.
No. Only 90, 180 and 270 degrees are offered, so the picture never needs cropping or background filling.
Phones often store a tag saying how to turn the photo instead of turning the pixels. Many websites ignore that tag. Rotating here changes the pixels themselves, so every site shows it correctly.
No. The pixels are moved, not recompressed with loss, and the result is saved as lossless PNG. The file may be larger than a JPG original for that reason.
No. Your browser turns the pixels itself, so the document stays on your phone or computer throughout.
