TIFF to JPG decodes a TIFF file in your browser and saves its first page as a JPG at 95% quality. Scans and photos usually shrink to a fraction of the TIFF size; any transparent areas become white.
Office scanners, fax software and professional cameras often produce TIFF, a flexible format that is great for archiving but heavy and poorly supported by phones, browsers and upload forms.
Browsers cannot open TIFF by themselves, so this page loads a small TIFF decoder (UTIF) when you use it. It reads the first image in the file, places it on a white background and encodes a JPG at 95% quality, slightly higher than the site's other converters to keep scanned text sharp.
Select the TIFF
Choose a .tif or .tiff file; a placeholder shows its name, since browsers cannot preview TIFF.
Convert
Press Run TIFF to JPG. Larger files take a few seconds to decode.
Download the JPG
Check the preview and size, then save the .jpg file.
Only page one is converted. For multi-page scans, ask the scanner to save each page separately or as a PDF.
Uncompressed TIFF scans often shrink 10 times or more. A TIFF that was already compressed shrinks less. The result card shows the exact change.
TIFFs are usually high-quality scans and photos, and 95% keeps small text and fine detail crisp. Use Compress Image afterwards if you need an even smaller file.
Browsers do not display TIFF natively, so the page shows a placeholder until the JPG is made.
No. The decoder library runs in your browser, so the scan is never sent anywhere.
