WEBP to PNG turns a .webp image into a standard PNG file in your browser. Transparency is preserved and the PNG opens in practically every program, including older editors and office software that reject WEBP.
Many websites now serve their pictures as WEBP, so right-click and Save often gives you a .webp file. Older photo editors, some Microsoft Office versions, printing shops and many upload forms still do not understand it.
PNG is the safe destination when the picture has sharp edges, text or a transparent background, because PNG stores every pixel without further loss. The trade-off is size: the PNG is usually larger than the WEBP it came from.
Open your WEBP
Click the upload box and choose the .webp file you saved.
Convert to PNG
Press Run WEBP to PNG; your browser decodes the WEBP and writes a PNG.
Download and use it
Save the PNG and open it in Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop or the form that refused the WEBP.
The website chose WEBP to make its pages load faster. Your browser saves the file in the format the site sent, which is why you get .webp instead of .jpg or .png.
Yes. PNG supports full transparency, so see-through areas in the WEBP remain see-through after conversion.
WEBP usually compresses with loss, while PNG stores pixels exactly. Writing the same picture losslessly takes more bytes, so a larger file is expected.
Only one frame is converted, giving a still PNG. To keep the animation you would need a GIF or video converter instead.
No. The WEBP is opened and the PNG created inside your browser tab; the image stays on your computer or phone.
For a photograph without transparency, JPG gives a much smaller file and is accepted everywhere. Choose PNG for logos, text-heavy graphics and anything with a transparent background.
