Crop PDF trims the same top, right, bottom and left margins off every page of a PDF; margins are set in points, where 72 points equal one inch (default 36, half an inch, on each side). It sets each page's visible area, so the cut-off part is hidden rather than deleted.

Phone scans and photocopies often carry dark scanner edges, punched-hole shadows or wide empty borders. Book PDFs and slides converted to PDF can have so much white space that the text looks tiny on a phone screen. Cropping the margins makes the page content larger when viewed and cleaner when printed.

The tool changes each page's crop box, the rectangle that PDF viewers and printers show. Nothing inside the page is redrawn, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. On an A4 page (595 × 842 points), the default 36-point margins leave a visible area of 523 × 770 points.

   Upload the PDF

   Choose the file whose borders you want to trim.

   Enter the margins

   Type how much to cut from the top, right, bottom and left, in points. 72 points = 1 inch, about 28 points = 1 cm.

   Crop and check

   Press Run Crop PDF, download the file ending in -cropped.pdf, and open it. Too much or too little? Change the numbers and run again on the original.
