Edit PDF lets you type a line of text onto one page of a PDF at the position and font size you choose, then download the edited copy. It works inside your browser with pdf-lib, so the file is not uploaded.

A lot of PDF editing in daily life is small: a missing date on a form, a reference number on an office letter, a roll number on an assignment cover. You do not need to rebuild the document for that; you need to put a few words in the right spot. That is the job this page does.

You enter the text, the page number, an x and y position and a size. The words are drawn on top of the existing page in black, and everything else in the PDF stays as it was. Text that is already in the PDF cannot be changed or deleted here.

  1. Open the PDF

    Pick the file from your phone or computer; it loads in the browser tab.

  2. Type your text

    Write the words you want to add, such as a date, a name or a reference number.

  3. Set page, position and size

    Choose the page number, then x (distance from the left edge) and y (distance up from the bottom edge) in PDF points. The default size is 14.

  4. Apply and check

    Run the tool and open the result. If the text sits too high or low, change y and run it again on the original file.

  5. Download

    Save the new file; its name ends in -text.pdf so your original stays untouched.

Filling a gap on a printed form
Admission and job forms shared as flat PDFs often have no fillable fields. Typing the name or date at the right spot saves printing and scanning.
Adding a memo or reference number
Offices that number outgoing letters can stamp the number onto a finished PDF without opening the original Word file.

Put your student ID or section on the first page of a report before submitting it to the university portal.

Example: a date at the top right of an A4 page

To print a date near the top right corner of page 1 on an A4 PDF, try x = 450 and y = 800 with size 12. Because y counts upward from the bottom, a smaller y moves the text down the page, and y = 40 would place it near the footer.

Can I change words that are already in the PDF?

No. This page adds new text on top of a page; it cannot select, rewrite or delete text that is already there. If you need to change the original wording, edit the source Word file and convert it again, or cover the old text with a white box in a desktop editor.

How do I find the right x and y numbers?

Think of the page as a grid measured in points from the bottom-left corner. An A4 page is 595 points wide and 842 tall, so x = 300 is roughly the middle and y = 800 is near the top. Run it once, look at the result, and adjust by 10 to 20 points.

Does my PDF get uploaded?

No. The file is opened and changed inside your browser using the pdf-lib library, and the edited PDF is created on your own device.

Can I write in Bangla?

Yes. When the text contains Bangla or other non-English characters, the tool embeds Noto Sans Bengali. Simple words come out fine, but complex joined letters may not shape perfectly, so zoom in and check before you submit the file anywhere official.

Can I add text to more than one page?

One page per run. Download the result, load that new file, change the page number and run again. Each run keeps everything added before.

Is it free?

Yes, free and without sign-up. There is no watermark added by us and no daily cap for this browser tool.
