Convert PDF to Kindle AZW3.
PDF to AZW3 converts a text-based PDF into AZW3, the newer Kindle book format also called KF8, using Calibre on our server. On a Kindle the text then reflows and you can change the font size, instead of squinting at a full PDF page.
Kindle devices can open PDFs, but they show the whole page shrunk onto a small e-ink screen. Turning the PDF into AZW3 gives you a real Kindle book: text that fills the screen, adjustable fonts, and normal page turns.
AZW3 handles headings, images and styling better than the older MOBI format, so it is the sensible choice for any Kindle from the last several years. The conversion is only as good as the PDF's text, though: Calibre rebuilds paragraphs from lines, and complex layouts lose their structure.

AZW3, also known as KF8, is Amazon's newer Kindle ebook format. It supports richer formatting than MOBI and is read by Kindle devices and the Kindle apps.
Connect the Kindle to a computer with a USB cable, open it like a pen drive and copy the .azw3 file into the documents folder. It appears in your library after you eject the Kindle.
It goes to our server over HTTPS, where Calibre converts it in a temporary folder that is erased after the AZW3 file is returned to you.
PDFs store lines, not paragraphs, so Calibre has to join lines back together. Where the PDF has unusual spacing, some breaks may remain.
No. Scanned pages are images; they need OCR before any ebook conversion makes sense.
