Split PDF cuts one PDF into several smaller PDFs: you type page ranges such as 1-3, 5, 7-9 and each range is saved as its own file. It runs in your browser, and the pages are copied without any loss of quality.

Splitting is the opposite of merging. A bank statement of 40 pages, a full thesis, or a scanned bundle of documents often needs to be broken up so you can send only the part someone asked for.

You decide the pieces with a short range list. Commas separate the pieces, a dash means "from–to", and a single number means one page. A document called report.pdf split as "1-2, 3-10" gives report-part-1.pdf and report-part-2.pdf.

  1. Upload one PDF

    Pick the file. The page count is shown under it, so you know the highest page number you can use.

  2. Type the ranges

    Enter ranges separated by commas, for example 1-3, 5, 7-9. Write each range from the lower page to the higher one.

  3. Split and save

    Press Run Split PDF. Download each part separately, or use Download all to save every part one after another.

Example: a 12-page scanned bundle

documents.pdf holds a CV (pages 1-2), certificates (pages 3-8) and a testimonial (pages 9-12). Typing 1-2, 3-8, 9-12 produces documents-part-1.pdf (2 pages), documents-part-2.pdf (6 pages) and documents-part-3.pdf (4 pages).

How do I write the page ranges?

Separate pieces with commas. Use a dash for a run of pages (2-6) and a plain number for one page (9). "1-3, 5, 7-9" makes three PDFs: pages 1 to 3, page 5 alone, and pages 7 to 9.

Can I take out just one page?

Yes. Type that page number alone, for example 4, and you get a one-page PDF containing only page 4.

Does splitting lower the quality?

No. Each page is copied into the new file as it was, without being redrawn, so scans look the same and typed text can still be selected and searched.

What is the difference between Split PDF and Delete Pages?

Split gives you several new files, one per range, and leaves out nothing you asked for. The PDF Page Deleter gives you one file with the pages you named removed. Pick Split when you need pieces, Delete when you need a cleaned-up whole.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The file is opened and divided inside your browser, and the parts are created on your device.

Why did one of my parts come out empty?

Usually the range was written backwards, such as 8-4. Write it as 4-8 and run the split again.
