TIFF to PDF places TIFF images on A4 pages and saves them as one PDF, decoding each file in your browser with the UTIF library. You can add several TIFF files at once, but from a multi-page TIFF only the first page is used.

Office scanners, fax software and some government archives save scans as TIFF. It is a reliable format for scanning, but most people receiving your files expect a PDF, and many upload forms do not accept .tif at all.

This tool reads each TIFF in the browser, turns it into a lossless image and centres it on an A4 portrait page with a small margin. Important: if your scanner put all pages into a single multi-page TIFF, only page one ends up in the PDF. Save the scan as separate TIFF pages, or use a desktop tool, for multi-page files.

My TIFF has 10 pages but the PDF has 1. Why?

The tool reads only the first page of each TIFF file. Split the multi-page TIFF into single pages first (many scanner apps can save one file per page), then select all of them here.

Is my scan uploaded?

No. Decoding and PDF building both happen in your browser, so the TIFF files stay on your device.

Can I search the text in the PDF?

No. The scans are placed as pictures. To get searchable text, run an OCR tool on the images or the finished PDF.

Why is the PDF large?

Scans at high resolution hold a lot of pixels, and the images are embedded without lossy compression. Use Compress PDF afterwards if a portal limits file size.

Will a landscape scan be rotated?

No, it is placed as is on a portrait page. Use Rotate PDF afterwards to turn that page.
