WEBP to PDF turns WEBP images into a PDF, one image per page. Because PDF cannot hold WEBP directly, each picture is first redrawn as a lossless PNG in your browser, so it looks the same but the PDF is often larger than the WEBP file.

WEBP is the format many websites, Google Images and some messaging apps use to save space. It is convenient online, but older office software and many upload forms do not open it, and a PDF is what people expect to receive.

The tool lets your browser decode each WEBP, draws it onto a canvas and stores that as a PNG image inside the PDF. Transparency survives this step. The trade-off is size: WEBP is very compact, while lossless PNG is not, so a 150 KB WEBP can easily become a page of several hundred kilobytes.

Why is the PDF larger than my WEBP image?

WEBP squeezes images very hard. A PDF cannot store WEBP, so each image is saved as lossless PNG, which keeps the look but takes more space. If size matters, convert the WEBP to JPG first and then use JPG to PDF.

Is any quality lost?

No more than was already in the WEBP. The decoded picture is stored without further loss, so the page looks the same as the image on screen.

Does it keep transparent backgrounds?

Yes. Transparent parts stay transparent in the PDF and appear white because the page behind them is white.

What about animated WEBP stickers?

Only a single frame is placed in the PDF. A PDF page cannot play animation.

Where is the conversion done?

In your browser. The WEBP files are decoded and placed into the PDF on your device and do not leave it.
